Sacramento Selassie church was founded in 1998 and is a nonprofit, tax exempt organization registered in the State of California. Church services include Worshiping services, Christening, Weddings, and Fithat services.
Our parish is comprise of loving and welcoming families. We believe in building a foundation for our kids through teaching them the word of God, love for one another, and strengthen their belief.
For years we have been renting and sharing place of worship with other Orthodox sister churches. Our ultimate goal was to purchase a place of our own with adequate room to conduct Sunday services and Bible studies. At last, with the help of almighty God, we have purchased such a building and are currently worshiping in it .
Service at our new location commenced on
Sunday October 14th, 2007 at 7am.
May God Bless!!
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church recognizes many feast days. Every day of the month is dedicated to a particular Saint. The feast days of particular saints in particular months are considered the Annual Feast, (once or twice a year) when the Tabot (Ark) of the Church is brought out in procession and vast numbers of people gather to honor the Saint. The yearly feasts of the Savior of the World occure in the Ethiopian months of Megabit (runs from mid-March to mid-April), and Tirr (mid-October to mid-November).
